Yes. ChatMargin adds persistent notes beside individual ChatGPT conversations. Notes support structured formatting and sub-pages, and you can open the same work in a larger Workspace view. See Notes for ChatGPT.
How do I keep notes attached to a specific ChatGPT chat?
ChatMargin associates its note workspace with the conversation you are viewing, so your working notes remain tied to that chat instead of living in a separate generic document.
Can I create sub-pages inside my ChatGPT notes?
Yes. ChatMargin notes can be split into sub-pages, which is useful when a conversation grows into several topics, deliverables or workstreams.
Can I open my ChatMargin notes in a larger view?
Yes. Workspace gives you a larger writing surface for the same conversation-linked note when the sidebar is too narrow for the work you are doing.
Can I save and reuse prompts in ChatGPT?

Yes. Search covers known conversation metadata together with ChatMargin notes, note sub-pages and prompts. ChatMargin does not claim to be a complete full-text index or backup of every ChatGPT transcript.
What is Context Checkpoint?
Context Checkpoint is a ChatMargin continuity tool available from a conversation when the work has become long or complex. It is part of the product's workflow layer around ChatGPT.
Is ChatMargin a Notion replacement?
No. ChatMargin borrows some useful workspace ideas, such as structured notes and sub-pages, but its purpose is narrower: keep the working layer directly around ChatGPT conversations instead of becoming a general knowledge-management platform.
Does ChatMargin upload my notes to its own servers?
The current product uses Chrome extension storage for ChatMargin notes, prompts, follow-up data and related metadata. It does not require a ChatMargin account or a ChatMargin backend storing those notes. Read the Privacy Policy for the full details.
Is ChatMargin free?
ChatMargin is currently free to install and use. The website may offer an optional way to support development, but that does not unlock a separate paid feature tier in the current product.
Which browsers does ChatMargin support?
ChatMargin is currently distributed through the Chrome Web Store and is focused on Chrome and Chromium-based browsers. Broader browser or LLM support should not be assumed unless announced explicitly.
Is ChatMargin affiliated with OpenAI or ChatGPT?
No. ChatMargin is an independent browser extension and is not affiliated with OpenAI or ChatGPT.
