Why a sidebar alone is not enough
A sidebar is ideal for capture because it stays visible next to the conversation. But serious work can quickly outgrow a narrow panel. ChatMargin combines both modes: quick work beside ChatGPT and a larger Workspace for the same note.

Use the conversation for iteration and the Workspace for structure, outlines, decisions and reusable context.
The current product uses Chrome extension storage and does not require a ChatMargin account. This makes ChatMargin deliberately lighter than a cloud workspace product.
How this differs from a general notes app
A general notes app starts from documents and pages. ChatMargin starts from the ChatGPT conversation and adds the surrounding working layer. Its purpose is not to become another destination you must manage, but to reduce the context switching around ChatGPT.
